29th Annual Mariachi Extravaganza

The Mariachi Extravaganza is one of the largest and most important mariachi music festivals in the world. It attracts over 1,000 of the most talented mariachi musicians and vocalists who gather annually to participate in competitions, workshops, and concerts throughout a weeklong period. Dozens of high-caliber mariachi performances are held at the Lila Cockrell Theatre on the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio with musicians and vocalists from top performing student groups in the U.S. Two days of fervent competitions culminate in a concert featuring competition winners and featured guest artists – La Excelencia de México – Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán.
