National Museum of the Pacific War Features New Exhibit, Cover to Cover: A Look at the Asiatic Fleet
The National Museum of the Pacific War (NMPW) is presenting its new temporary exhibit, Cover to Cover: A Look at the Asiatic Fleet, January 14 through May 1, 2022. The exhibit explores an overlooked aspect of stamp collecting (naval covers) through the Asiatic Fleet of the US Navy. These artistically embellished mailing envelopes, postmarked aboard ships, became collectible almost from inception. The exhibit displays embellished mailing envelopes, postmarked aboard thirteen Asiatic Fleet ships, plus a variety of corresponding photographs, scale models and a special coloring corner for children.
This exhibit is located at the George H. W. Bush Gallery at the NMPW and is free to the public. Visit the exhibit any time during Museum hours, Wed-Mon 9:00am-5:00pm. Get tickets online at: https://www.pacificwarmuseum.org/visit .
