Woodlawn Theatre Marquee Lighting Ceremony

by | Feb 18, 2015 | News and Previews

Woodlawn Theatre is excited to announce that for the first time in over 40 years, new life will be buzzing on their marquee facing Fredericksburg Rd. When the theatre was first built in 1946, an array of beautiful neon lights graced the front of the building in true Hollywood fashion, casting a lively glow across Fredericksburg Rd. The theatre fell on hard times after a few decades and the lights became little more than a passing memory. Until now.

Come join the Woodlawn Theatre as they rejuvenate the marquee with a special lighting ceremony. The neon tubes are being restored; the Woodlawn Theatre will soon meet its former glory of years past. With appearances by city officials, including District 1 Councilman Diego Bernal, special performances by their youth group the Premier! Performers, and Presidential Awards to honor 4 of their students, this will surely be an historic event you really shouldn’t miss!

The Woodlawn Theatre hasn’t been this charged up since it first opened its doors all those years ago.
