SOLI: A Season of Infinite Sound and Color

SOLI Chamber Ensemble is back with another year of events at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The first concert of the 2021 – 2022 season: TABLEAU, is in partnership with the San Antonio Botanical Garden and the current exhibit: Frida Kahlo’s Oasis. View details of the event here.

Following Tableau, join SOLI for FRACTALS, an exploration of infinite color, shape, and voice – as composers weave new sounds and combinations into the ever-evolving kaleidoscope of music. Featuring works by Xi Wang, Quinn Mason, San Antonio-native Aaron Prado, and the world premiere of Four Essays on Solitude and other Ambiguous Emotions by internationally acclaimed Syrian-American composer Kinan Azmeh. November offers two SOLI events. First, REFLECTION, a celebration of Astor Piazzolla’s 100th birthday with the colors of movement as heard through music on November 9, 2021. View details of the event here. Then on November 14, 2021 their fifth-annual community event, OPEN MIC V, in partnership with Texas Public Radio.

In 2022, SOLI returns to the San Antonio Botanical Garden for SPECTRA on January 31, 2022 with a “concert that considers the spectra of music and culture of our continent”. View details of the event here. Following with PRISMS on April 11, 2022.

SOLI Chamber Ensemble has been giving voice to 20th- and 21st-century contemporary chamber music since 1994, mesmerizing audiences for nearly three decades with their engaging performances, ensuring the future of new music through educational initiatives, and continually renewing their commitment to the music of living composers through performances and commissions. Winner of the 2013 Chamber Music America and ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award and a 2020 Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Grant, SOLI continues to champion new works, new contexts, and new audiences for the music of our time.
